Terms of use

The rules for using Layro and publishing components on it, in plain words.

Draft, last changed Oct 28, 2026. Written in plain words to describe what Layro does; it's not legal advice. Questions: hello@layro.dev.

Layro is a free, open registry of React components. By using it you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose.

Using Layro

  • Browsing, previewing, copying and installing components is free and needs no account.
  • Publishing needs a GitHub account. You need to be at least 16, and one person per account.
  • Don't try to break, overload or scrape Layro beyond its public APIs and their limits, or use it to attack anyone.

Publishing components

  • You may only publish code you wrote or have the right to share, under one of the licences Layro accepts: MIT, Apache-2.0, ISC or BSD-3-Clause. See Licences.
  • Every component and every new version is reviewed before it goes live. Layro can decline it, with a reason.
  • No malware, tracking, crypto miners, hidden network calls, ads, spam, or anything illegal or meant to harm people.
  • You keep the copyright. By publishing, you let Layro host your code, show it, run it in its sandboxed preview, record a short video of it, and serve it to anyone who installs it, under the licence you chose.
  • Layro may take a component down if it breaks these terms or after a valid report, and tells you why by email.

Using components

Components are written by their authors, not by Layro, and come under their own licence. Read the code before you ship it. They're provided as they are, without any warranty from Layro or, unless their licence says otherwise, from their authors.

Your account

You can delete your account any time in Settings. Layro may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

Layro itself

Layro is free for now. If paid plans arrive later, what's free today stays free, and nothing changes for you without notice. Layro is offered as it is: we work to keep it up and your data safe, but can't promise it never fails, and aren't liable for losses from using it, as far as the law allows.
